associate, project manager I

GWA Dots

Caryssa has a broad range of project experience but feels most at home in historic preservation and sustainability. She has a passion for showing the potential of the existing building stock through problem solving, plan iteration, and incorporation of sustainable elements. Time outside of the office is spent fulfilling a never-ending project: The restoration of her 1916 Prairie Style home. In her spare time, you can find her spending time with her family and labradoodle.

most impactful place

Uzbekistan – I had the opportunity to assist a professor in his research of a city’s growth and ultimate death along the historic Silk Road, which allowed for a seven day trip to Samarkand, Tashkant, and Bukhara in Uzbekistan. The architecture was quaint and functional, yet much was ornately and beautifully constructed with colorful glazed tile. Getting to know the architecture and the truly welcoming and kind people of Uzbekistan was a humbling experience reminiscent of a simpler time that’s difficult to find here in the United States.
