Rockford, Ill. (August 13, 2020) – Gary W. Anderson Architects today unveiled it has rebranded its firm to “Studio GWA.” The new identity better reflects the firm’s business growth, enhanced breadth and depth of services, and comprehensive team of professionals in architecture, interior design, urban planning, and development services.
The firm has been improving the quality of life through design since 1982 when it was founded by Gary W. Anderson, AIA. Over the years, it has grown and is now home to an impressive group of individuals with considerable diversity in capabilities and qualifications.
“We wanted a name that best reflected who we are today – and where we’re going in the future,” said Anderson, Founder and Principal Architect. “I’m very proud that what started as a dream of mine has now grown to be a flexible, adaptable and creative group of professionals who are natural collaborators – both with one another – and our clients. This team has led to our enhanced capabilities and portfolio of work throughout the Midwest and beyond.”
The new name was a result of a thoughtful exploration process that involved insight from clients, perspective from partners, and reflection from the team itself. The group arrived on Studio GWA with “Studio” representing the free exchange of ideas and out-of-the box problem solving among the team and clients and “GWA” as a nod to Anderson, whose trademark blend of determination, optimism and realism has become its recipe for success.
The new logo visually brings together the modern and the traditional, an expertise for which the firm is well known.
“While we’ve earned a reputation as experts in historic renovation and adaptive reuse, we’ve evolved to provide other services that support development, too,” said Jennifer Spencer, Studio GWA Partner. “This rebranding is an opportunity to better tell our story and share our team, our projects, and our expanded capabilities.”
While the name has changed, Studio GWA will continue to focus on designing and conducting the same great work for which it has earned high industry praise and reputation. The firm remains focused on revitalizing existing structures in a way that emphasizes their character and charm while also leading efforts in new construction, interior design, corridor planning, financial feasibility studies, and tax credit consulting.
