Studio GWA is Now a Certified Women Business Enterprise!

Dec 2, 2022 | News

2022 has been a monumental year for Studio GWA.  We celebrated our 40th anniversary of being in business!  What started with Gary 40 years ago has flourished into a 12-person team of partners, architects, designers, and planners.  While we wear our job titles and credentials proudly, our commitment to advocacy and volunteering is part of our DNA.  It has marked our firm’s history for the past four decades and will continue to be a part of who we are for years to come.

Additionally, our 40th anniversary signifies a transition.  We are proud to announce that Studio GWA received our certification as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE), meaning that majority ownership of the firm is held by women – Jennifer Spencer and Ashley Sarver.

What does this mean? Well, a couple of things:

First, it means that our founder, Gary Anderson, has passed the reigns in office leadership to Jennifer, Ashley, and Aaron.  This gives Gary the flexibility to direct more of his time to the things he enjoys–community advocacy, volunteer work, and a variety of passion projects—while still being active with Studio GWA.

Second, it means that Studio GWA is better positioned for projects that prioritize contracting with DBEs (disadvantaged business enterprises), MBEs (minority business enterprises) and WBEs (women business enterprises).

Studio GWA continues to be the same team you know and love – just with a new leadership structure and a WBE certification!
